Protesters in Minnesota chased away a CNN crew while they were attempting to cover the fourth night of demonstrations over the police-killing of Daunte Wright, a report said.
One member of the crew got pelted in the head with a water bottle, falling to the ground, outside the Brooklyn Center police station on Thursday night, according to the Washington Examiner, who had a reporter on the ground.
Some people in the crowd called for a medic for the crewmember, but he insisted “it’s all good.”
The confrontation began when two women approached CNN reporter Miguel Marquez, demanding the crew cover a protest across the street instead of focusing on the large police presence guarding the precinct, the newspaper reported.
Marquez tried to reason with the women, the report said, before other protesters joined in, with some eventually shouting for the CNN crew to leave, the report said.
As the crew was driving away in their van, multiple people pelted the vehicle with eggs.
“What did they do?” one person can be heard asking in the video, as the egg yolk runs down the side of the reporter’s minivan.
“CNN, being some b—hes,” another person responds.
Marquez later sent out a tweet addressing the encounter.
“My team and I are fine and I appreciate your concern. I hope for equal justice under the law and will continue to report on this vital story as it unfolds,” he wrote.
