A 61-year-old man was shot in the leg in broad daylight near a school in East Harlem Thursday, cops said.
The shots rang out at East 111th Street and Lexington Avenue — a short distance from the Harlem Success Academy — at around 2:20 p.m., police said.
The man told cops he “heard shots and felt pain,” according to police.
He was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in stable condition.
It wasn’t immediately clear if he was an innocent bystander or the intended target, a police spokesman said.
